So I've told you about Nolan's love for all things pictures and videos right? Well, recently it has been taken to a whole new level. This past week I noticed this smart little fella propping his camera up on something, putting it in selfie mode, pressing record, then doing some stunts of his own in front of the camera. The moment I figured out what he was doing my mouth hit the floor! This kid literally never ceases to amaze me! What he may lack in social skills he makes up 110% in creativity. I used to worry about his future: will he every talk, will he be in typical classes, will he give hugs and kisses, or ever play with other kids. But every single time I had a doubt or a worry about what Nolan's abilities may or may not be God would whisper, "watch this." Something would happen that would blow my mind: a word spoken, a hug given, pointing to objects, playing with his sister, etc. The very things, while so small at the time, that I worried about he showed me he could do. Just last week Nolan's therapist text and said he pointed to a picture of Harper and said her name! He said "Harper!" I can't begin to tell you what an accomplishment that is! Why worry about the huge things he may or may not do? He amazes me every single day. Nolan has taught me over time to take life one day at a time, strive for the best, and appreciate every little moment. I read a quote the other day that said, "While we try to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is all about." Parenthood is all about worry; it's impossible to parent without it. But don't let it consume you or even worse put limits on your children. You have no idea the person they will be tomorrow much less in 10 years. Celebrate the little moments before you blink and they are gone.
