I once read a quote that said "Normal is just a washing machine setting." I giggled because it's so true. What is normal anyways? Normal for us is autism. Nolan has autism - it doesn't have him. He is so full of joy, giggles, and silliness that it is hard not to smile when you see him. That is not to say he doesn't have his moments though. We all do! I have been back and forth for a long time considering opening up about our life with autism but honestly I didn't want people to see autism when they see Nolan. I don't want them to see autism when they see our family. After a lot of prayer and advice from others I decided it is time! Because while I don't want Nolan or our family to be labeled, more than that I want others to know the joy and challenges we face. Not for sympathy or pity because that is the last thing I every want. I want others to be aware and know how to accept people and families who are different. I want people to know how autism makes us different but how much we are also so much like every other family. I can't wait to tell you all about this sweet boy and how he's made our family special! #autism #autismfamily

ps: this is still a work in progress so some links of the blog may not be up and going yet!
